With a yearly revenue of over $5,000,000,000, Telecomunicaçoes de Sao Paulo S.A (also known as Telesp or Vivo Participações S.A.) is a communications company operating in the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil. Its parent company is Telefonica and it offers fixed-line telecommunication including all sorts of services such as local, measured, public telephones, multimedia service intraregional and international long-distance as well as services that let providers of cellular sesrvices as well as other telecommunications companies to use its network.
The company’s local service includes a measuring of all calls originating or ending in the local area, and the company also offers local services to other states (Santa Catarina, Parana, Rio Grande do Sul, Espirito Santo, Sergipe) and to parts of Rio de Janeiro thanks to the telephone service concessionaire it has as well as providing Para, Amapa, Rondonia, Maranhao, Tocantins and Acre with local telephone services.

This company (also called TIM Brasil) which is the largest Brazilian mobile communications global system operating in the country, is also the only company tha offers cellular service throughout the whole of Brazil (using its subsidiaries TIM Celular S.A. and TIM Nordeste S.A. in some parts of the country). Today it has 51,000,000 customers, to whom it offers various services such as time-division multiple access technology, GSM and some value services (including multimedia messaging services, Blackberry services, wireless application protocol, video call and text messaging.
OI
Oi is a landline telephone company which is the largest one in Brazil and the second largest in the whole of Latin America if we consider revenue and the number of lines in service (more than 22,000,000). It also has more than 31,000,000 wireless customers and 4,000,000 ADSL subscribers.
