Mobile Web Apps

Mobile Web Apps:
What is a mobile web app, and how is it different than an iPhone or Android App?
It’s a question that many people ask us, and one that we’re happy to explain.
Most apps are developed for a specific hardware platform, like an iPhone or Android phone. As a result, they are actual programs written in a specific programming language and designed to run on a specific kind of machine.
A Web App, though, is really just a website designed to be viewed on a browser on a mobile phone.
If possible, your first choice is probably to develop an actual app. That’s because you get the convenience and publicity of having your app for sale in the iPhone App Store or Android Marketplace.
But if your app’s purpose doesn’t fit within Apple’s guidelines, or if your idea is really better as a web site rather than as a standalone app, then maybe a web app is a better choice for you.
The decision isn’t hard — in fact sometimes your requirements make it an extremely simple choice — but it should be made carefully and properly, and we’re happy to help you make that decision.
That’s why you should schedule a Free Mobile App Feasibility Consultation with us. Let’s talk about your mobile app (or web app) plans, and you can pepper us with questions and challenges about your project. Even if we don’t decide to work together, you’ll at least end up knowing far more about mobile apps and web apps than you do now.
